Terms & Conditions of Entry

Entries in The Yooralla Media Awards must have originally been published or broadcast in the year preceding the deadline of 5pm on Friday, October 29th, 2010.

Entrants must be Australian citizens or residents and their work must be broadcast or published in Australia.

For the purposes of these awards, a journalist or photographer is understood to be a person who is employed either freelance or fulltime.

Entrants must declare if there are any legal complaints, defamation actions, contempt of court actions, suppression orders, challenges to the accuracy, corrections or claims of plagiarism, relevant to the work being submitted.

The winner of each award will be a contender for the Evangeline Ireland Award.

Entrants for more than one award must complete a separate entry form for each category.

There is no cost to enter the awards.

Judges have the right to reject an entry if, in their opinion, it does not comply with the requirements of the competition. The judges’ decision will be final. Yooralla, on advice from the judges, reserves the right to withdraw an award if it later finds the entrant did not comply with the entry conditions.

The judges reserve the right to re-allocate any entry that, in their view, has been entered in the wrong category. The entry will only be judged in the new category.

Yooralla reserves the right to use all material submitted for presentation and media use and to reproduce it for the purposes of promoting the awards.

It is the entrant's responsibility to obtain all permissions, including the copyright owner's permission, to have the material entered into the Awards and for its possible use in promotion of the Awards.

Please keep copies of all material submitted. Entries will not be returned.

The decisions of the judges are final and no correspondence will be entered into concerning them.

No notice of the awards will be given before the presentation ceremony.
